The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, Bulgarian Armed Forces Women Association and the Montenegrin American Youth Alumni Association with the support of NATO Science for Peace and Security Program organized an advanced three-day workshop entitled: “Women building peace: What They Do, Why It Matters”–Resolution 1325”.
The project put together representatives from NATO Member States and partner countries who discussed the development of the Resolution 1325 of UN Security Council, the need for unified law, new understanding and more talks and research on this topic. The main purpose was to raise the issue and its importance, while discussing the women participations in the conflicts, the importance of studying this area, the gaps that need to be filled, and the specific issues that women face in this environment. There were representatives from Military, NGO, Government – around 21 speakers from NATO Member States and Partner countries.
The event took place in the period 13-15 December 2016 in Podgorica, Montenegro.
