On December 17th, The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria organized a virtual conference “Building-Up Disinformation Resilience: Is there any anti-fake news vaccine?” on December 17 from 14:00 h (EET) on ZOOM. The event included the presentation of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and Dr. Preslav Nakov Social Media Reserach examining over 10 000 publications on COVID-19, conducted by . The virtual conference convened medical professionals, scientists, international organizations representatives, diplomats, military, security experts, journalists to reflect on what measures need to be taken by countries to counter disinformation and build up societal disinformation resilience in times when reliable information is crucial for the effective management of public health, national and international security.
Amont the keynote speakers at the event were Prof. Dr. Nikolay Gabrovski, Deputy Director of Pirogov Emergency Hospital, Dr. Michail Okoliyskifrom the World Health Organisation Country Office in Bulgaria, Veni Markovski, Chairman of the Board, Internet Society – Bulgaria, and former member European Commission High Level Expert Group on Fake News and Online Disinformation and Dr. Naville Bolt, Director of the King’s Centre for Strategic Communications.
The event was organized by the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria with the support of NATO Public Diplomacy Division. Social Media Research will be published in January 2021.
