The project is aimed at improving NGO capacities to create a favorable public environment for the formulation of new immigration policies in Bulgaria based on the European practices through inter sector partnership and in a structured dialogue with the state, the local authorities, business and media. The project target groups included NGOs, local, regional and national public authorities, immigrant communities, media and business structures.
The project activities included: research, analysis, establishment of inter sector partner network, dialogue and a consultative process, formulation of immigration policies based on relevant European practices, information campaigns, conferences and discussions, as well as the publishing and dissemination of collected papers on immigration policy issues. The project duration was 12 months and its activities were carried out in Southwest Bulgaria.
The project gave the opportunity for NGOs to promote public understanding of the positive role immigrant communities might have in the Bulgarian society, and consequently to contribute to their effective social integration.
