On 19 June 2012, The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo, with the special support of the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, organized a public lecture of the Prime Minister of Kosovo H.E. Hashim Thaci, entitled “Kosovo and Western Balkans Toward Euro-Atlantic Integration”.
The Republic of Kosovo celebrated the fourth anniversary from its independence while tagging the beginning of many important processes for the future of the state. In 2012, the Republic of Kosovo completed the process of monitoring the independence, which was linked to many economic and social changes, as well as reforms in the Electoral Code, in order to strengthen democracy. Prime Minister Thaci declared that 91 countries had already recognized Kosovo as an independent republic, which was also a member of IMF and the World Bank, and soon expected to become a member of EBRD. In his speech, he discussed Kosovo’s economic issues, referring to the priorities of country’s government, among which were those to maintain macroeconomic stability and to encourage the private sector.
The event was held at the Sheraton Hotel, in Sofia, at 15:30 h.
