On March 16th 2016 in the European Commission Representation in Sofia at 14:30 a discussion was held on the topic of “Sofia – European architecture perspective”, organized by PanEuropa Bulgaria in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Sofia Municipality. The meeting began with opening remarks by H.E. Thomas van Oorschot, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Bulgaria, who presented briefly the priorities of the Dutch presidency of the European Council and underlined the significant role of urban development in the general European cultural progress.
Twelve of the candidates for Chief architect of Sofia presented themselves, shared their vision for urban development of the city, and answered questions from the audience. Moderator of the discussion was the Honorable Dr. Solomon Passy, President of The Atlantic club of Bulgaria. The event gathered also esteemed representatives of the architecture and academic community, media, business, as well as active civil society.
