NATO supported the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Armed Forces Women Association in the organization of a two-day conference entitled: “Women, Peace and Security. What They Do, Why It Matters”.
The keynote speaker was H.E. Ambassador Marriët Schuurman, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security. The goal of the project was to draw public attention and awareness to UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and the necessity of its implementation in Bulgaria and abroad, and focused on the current successful results.
The main results of the project were:
- To draw public awareness to the UN Resolution 1325 on its 15 Anniversary
- To see the international implementation of the Resolution in NATO States
- To present the Bulgarian implementation of the UN Resolution 1325 and its results
The event took place on the 27-28 of October 2015 in the Central Military Club Sofia.
