The Bulgarian Euro-Atlantic Youth Club, supported by NATO, organized a week-long international seminar in the period 3-9 June 2018 in Smolyan, Bulgaria, on the topic “NATO: Strengthening Transatlantic Dialog and Cooperation in 2018”.
This year’s seminar focused on addressing NATO’s top priority actions for dealing with the challenges in the changing international environment. More specifically, the key topics included: Bulgaria’s membership and priorities in NATO, #WEARENATO Campaign, the impact of BREXIT on the Common Foreign and Security policy of the EU, the NATO-EU cooperation, the unpredictable behavior of North Korea, the continuing fight against ISIS and terrorism in general, cybersecurity and cyber defense, the impact of fake news, NATO relations with Russia after the presidential elections in 2018, future enlargement of NATO, and the new role of NATO in Afghanistan among others.
Besides attending a number of intriguing lectures, participants took part in fun social activities.
