On 8 November 2012, The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and the organization of Jews in Bulgaria “Shalom”, sponsored by the Burgas Municipality and the Regional Administration, organized a Concert for the Victims of the Terrorist Attack at the Burgas Airport.
The Hall of Regional Administration in Burgas was filled with people, who wanted to pay their respect to the victims of the terrorist attack of 18 July.
Konstantin Grebenarov, Regional Administrator,Dimitur Nikolov, Mayor of Burgas, Solomon Passy, President of The Atlantic club of Bulgaria, and H.E. Kamisa-Raz, Israeli Ambassador in Bulgaria, expressed their condolences to the families of the innocent victims and stated that such tragedies should never happen again. The Ambassador H.E. Kamisa-Raz expressed gratitude to those who were sympathetic to the tragic event. He expressed his confidence towards his government that the tragic event should not affect, but rather strengthen the relations between Israel and Bulgaria. The mayor highlighted that the events from 18 July had gathered the people of Burgas closer.
Among the guests were the honorary Orlin Mandov, Counselor of Israel in Burgas, Cem Ulusoy, General Counselor of Turkey in Burgas, representatives of the Jewish community, public figures and citizens.
Lika Eshkenazi enchanted the audience with a magnificent performance of Jewish songs and also acted as a host of the concert. The vocal ensemble “Aqua-Delia”,the Burgas choir “Mazal” and students from the Burgas Music School sang in front of the portraits of the victims, which were surrounded by lit candles and many flowers.
