On 7 July 2017, from 09:30 – 12:00, The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria hosted Atlantic Discussions at the Central Military Club’s Grand Concert Hall, Sofia.
The first part of the event involved a discussion with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria H.E. Boyko Borissov and was on the topic “The Transatlantic Partnership from the Perspective of Bulgaria’s EU Presidency”. During this first part of the event, Prime Minister Borissov highlighted the strategic priorities of Bulgaria in view of the transatlantic relations and the forthcoming Bulgarian EU Presidency. This was the first large-scale discussion on this topic with the Bulgarian Prime Minister.
The second part of the event consisted of a public lecture by H.E. Eric Rubin, US Ambassador to Bulgaria, on the topic “U.S. – Bulgarian Partnership: The Way Ahead”. During the lecture, H.E. Eric Rubin discussed the partnership between USA and Bulgaria and how it could be strengthened. This was the first public event with the participation of Ambassador Rubin after the election of the current Parliament and Government of Bulgaria.
The Atlantic Discussions were moderated by Dr. Solomon Passy – President of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria.
