- The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria host Ambassador Philip Reeker, Deputy to the Commander of US European Command – EUCOM. The event takes place on 4 May 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at Hall 8 of the National Palace of Culture, Sofia. In the turbulent post-BREXIT times in EUROPE, the cohesiveness of the West is on trial and the Trans-Atlantic bond needs to be reinforced. The two visits & discussions on May 4th are part of the on-going campaign WE ARE NATO, which embraces all member–states.

- ACB’s youth organization – the Bulgarian Euro-Atlantic Youth Club, supported by NATO, organizes a NATO Summer School in the period 3 – 9 June 2018, in Smolyan, Bulgaria, on the topic NATO: Strengthening Transatlantic Dialog and Cooperation in 2018. The international seminar focuses on addressing NATO’s top priority actions for dealing with the challenges in the changing international environment.

- The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, in cooperation with the Atlantic Council of Serbia and with the support of the NATO Science for Peace Program, organizes an international seminar Fundamental Readiness for Cyber Defense in the Balkans (FRCDB). The project involves the participation of many politicians, diplomats and experts from more than 10 countries, international organizations (OSCE, OECD), as well as NGOs in the area of the cyber security. The main goal of the project is to facilitate the importance of regional and international cooperation among the participants within the NATO and partner countries in the SEE region. The workshop enhances an essential component in building fundamental readiness for resilience to cyber threats and cyber terrorism, by sifting the cyber defense capabilities in the Balkan region. The event focuses on five main priorities: cyber defense situational awareness, critical information infrastructure protection, cyber security capacity, culture and policies building and sharing the best practices through presenting new technology by the cyber security local and international industry.The seminar takes place in the period 17 – 19 October, in Belgrade, Serbia.

- On November, 9th, 2018, at 10:00, at Hall 6 of the National Palace of Culture, the largest conference on fake news gathers in one place journalists, representatives of European and local institutions, non-governmental organizations, and technology companies. The Fake News of True Trolls conference is organized by The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and Digital National Alliance, with the support of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the EU Parliament, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the Atlantic Treaty Association, the Diplomatic Institute to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria and the Embassy of France in Bulgaria. The conference focuses on disinformation, fake news and international security, the challenges journalists face in the present-day media landscape and the role of social media users in spreading misleading information. Among the speakers are the Vice-President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Iliana Iotova, the Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council, Lilyana Pavlova, the EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel and many other distinguished experts.
