The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria together with the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have the honor to host a lecture by Ambassador Philip Reeker, deputy commander of the European Command of the US Army.
In the first part there was a discussion with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria H.E. Boyko Borissov on the topic “The Transatlantic Partnership from the Perspective of Bulgaria’s EU Presidency”. In the second part there was a public lecture of H.E. Eric Rubin, US Ambassador to Bulgaria, on the topic “U.S. – Bulgarian Partnership: The Way Ahead”.
Shortly after the conclusion of the NATO Summit in Warsaw, the Atlantic Club in Bulgaria, the American-Bulgarian Alumni Association, the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized a public discussion on the results of the NATO Summit in Warsaw.
The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and the Embassy of the United States in Sofia organize a conversation with Deborah Lee James, U.S. Secretary of the Air Force, on the topic “Transatlantic Relations – The Role of Airpower in Global Security”.
The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia organized a public lecture by HE Dr. Milan Brglez, Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Slovenia on “Refugee and Migrant Crisis: The experience of Slovenia and the different opinions in the EU.” The event was held on June 9 2016 at the Central Military Club in Sofia.
Atlantic Club in Bulgaria and “Friedrich Ebert” Foundation in partnership with the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy – Berlin and with the special support of NATO, organized an international conference on “current security challenges in the Black Sea region.” It was held on April 22, 2016 at the Central Military Club Sofia.
On April 7, 2016 at Hotel Balkan (Sheraton) The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria organized a public lecture by HE Eric Rubin, US Ambassador to Bulgaria, “Bulgaria and America: Allies and partners.”
On March 16, 2016, a meeting-discussion on “Sofia – European architectural perspective” organized by PanEuropa Bulgaria together with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Sofia and Sofia Municipality was held at the European Commission Representation in Sofia. The meeting was opened by Dutch Ambassador Hon. Thomas van Oorshot who briefly outlined the priorities of the Dutch presidency of the European Union.
UNESCO and The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria organise an international conference with the main topic being “Countering Violent Extremism: New Security Agenda for Education and Culture”. The perspectives for building a global coalition for the protection of cultural heritage and diversity, as well as the role of education in preventing violent extremism will be discussed during the event.
On 18.11.2015 The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria organized a public lecture by HE Franco Frattini, foreign minister of Italy (2002-2004; 2008-2011), Vice President of the European Commission (2004-2008), responsible for Justice, Freedom and Security and Chairman of the Italian Society for International Organization. Theme of the event was “Refugees, Migration, Europe: 2015-2030.” It was held in Military Club, Sofia.
PanEuropa Bulgaria, Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria in cooperation with the Atlantic Club in Bulgaria, organized a public lecture on “EU during the Luxembourg Presidency: Where is Bulgaria.” It was held on July 1, 2015 at Sheraton Hotel.
The Association “Youth Euro-Atlantic Association” with the support of Department “Public diplomacy” of NATO, organized for the second consecutive year summer school of NATO in Bulgaria. It was entitled “NATO after the summit in 2014: new challenges and trials.” The event was held from 30 may – June 7, 2015 in the city of Smolyan.
The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria organized a public lecture of the executive director of the American Jewish Committee David Harris, which marks the 20th anniversary of his first lecture to the Bulgarian audience, also organized by the ACB in 1995. The lecture was held on 09.03. 2015 in the Central Military Club Sofia.
On November 19, 2014 (Wednesday) at 11:00 the Ambassador of France to Bulgaria HE Xavier de Laper Cabannes delivered a public lecture at the Atlantic Club in Bulgaria on the topic “European future of the Balkans”. The lecture was held at the French Institute in Bulgaria
Gen. Philip Breedlove, SACEUR (Supreme Allied Commander Europe), Supreme Commander of the United forces of NATO in Europe, delivered a lecture at the Atlantic Club in Bulgaria on November 12, Wednesday at 11:00 pm. This was his main public event during his two-day stay in Bulgaria. Gen Breedlove spoke on the topic “NATO after the summit in Wales”.
Dr. Salvatore Dzekini, Director of the Working Group “Small and Medium Enterprises and Entrepreneurship” in the OECD delivered a lecture to members and guests of the Atlantic Club. The public lecture was called “OECD added value to the EU” and was held at the Central Military Club in Sofia on October 29, 2014 from 9:30.

On 28.01.2018 the Atlantic Club in Bulgaria and PanEuropa Bulgaria with the support of the European Commission organized a conference “Prosperity = Science + Youth”, with the special participation of Prof.. Anne Glover – Chief Scientific Advisor to the President of the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso. The event aimed at discussing the Bulgarian contribution to European science and the development of research policies. The event was held in hotel “Sheraton”, Sofia.
Public discussion on “EU during the Greek Presidency and where Bulgaria” was held on the January 13, 2014 (Monday) at 11:00 pm., At Sheraton Hotel Sofia. The event was organized by PanEuropa Bulgaria and “Konrad Adenauer” Stiftung.
PanEuropa Bulgaria, the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy – Berlin and the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria organized an international conference with the support of NATO on “smart defense and open-door policy: new synergies of Euro-Atlantic security. ” The event aimed at discussuing the challenges arising due to use of smart defense, strengthening of cyber-security and possible future expansion of NATO. The conference brought together a number of Ambassadors, government officials, experts and representatives of NGOs and academics. The event was held on November 27, 2013 (Wednesday) at the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria.
The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, together with the Embassy of Palestine, the Embassy of Qatar and the Diplomatic Institute, will host a keynote speech by Dr. Nabil Shaath, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs (1994-2006) and Former Deputy Prime Minister (2005-2006) of the State of Palestine, entitled: “The Palestine Cause and the Role of Europe”. The event will take place at the Sheraton Hotel on Friday 21st June 2013 at 11 am.

Atlantic Club of Bulgaria, together with the team of the project “Bulgaria and Space Law – Look into the Future” and Scientific Research Fund of the Ministry of Education and Science and with the special support the Institute for cultural diplomacy organized a public lecture on “Prospects for cooperation in space and deal with pollution of the orbits.” Speaker was Stephen Freeland, Professor of International Law at the University of Western Sydney in Australia.
