“NEXT 20 YEARS: REPURPOSING NATO IN AN AGE OF AUSTERITY” keynote speech by the Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State H.E. Heather A. Conley

The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria in cooperation with the Embassy of the United States of America in Bulgaria have the pleasure to invite you to a keynote speech by Former Deputy Assistance Secretary of State Heather Conley entitled “Next 20 Years: Repurposing NATO in an Age of Austerity”.
Mrs. Conley began her career in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, where she served as the State Department liaison for the U.S. Department of Defense’s Global Humanitarian Assistance Program. She was also a senior associate with an international consulting firm led by former U.S. deputy secretary of state Richard L. Armitage. From 2001-2005, Ms. Conley served as deputy assistant secretary of state in the Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs, with responsibilities for U.S. bilateral relations for the 15 countries of northern and central Europe.
In her speech Mrs. Conley will focus on the NATO’s priorities in the next 20 years as well as the challenges, which the organization is facing.
